of the scarce 1533 German translation of this practical handbook of 
preventative medicine compiled by the Arab physician Ibn Butlan in the 
eleventh century. Illustrated with many woodcuts by Hans Weiditz the 
Younger. Most of the book concerns food with much general dietetic 
information on food and drink as well as sections on exercise and rest, 
air, sleeping and waking, repletion and excretion, and emotional
