(T. Lewis). The Figures To The First Set Of Quadrilles. Newport,
(Shropshire England): Printed by H.P. Silvester, and Published by T.
Lewis, Professor Of Dancing, Nd, c1850.
A miniature book measuring 2" x 2 7/8"; pp; 16; original puce paper
wrappers with no printing on the wrappers, no ownership or other
markings on the piece; the first eight pages describe the "Pantalon,
L'Ete, La Poule, Trenisse, Pastourelle & Finale"; the final eight pages
describe the "Figures To The Lancer's Set of Quadrilles". With the
exception of a 0.75" circular burn mark (probably a cigar?) in the
middle of the title page, this scarce piece of 19th century Dance
ephemera is very good. Quite scarce, OCLC Locates just three copies at
the Clements Library, University of Virginia & the Huntington.
