[David Mallet:] The Conduct of the Ministry Impartially Examined. In a Letter to the Merchants of London. London: Printed for S. Bladon, in Pater-Noster-Row, MDCCLVI [1756]. Presumed first edition; 8vo pamphlet (19 cm) in modern wraps; 68 pp. ESTC T81164; Kress 5501; Eberstadt 133:766; Sabin, 15207; Howes C668.

Scarce pamphlet concerning some troubling aspects of the Seven Years' War (aka French and Indian War), particularly the case of British subjects imprisoned for trading on the Ohio and carried prisoners to Quebec, the affairs of the Ohio Company and its culpability in connection with the Braddock expedition, and the case of Admiral John Byng, who was court-martialed and executed for his actions (or rather, failure to act) off Minorca in the spring of 1756. The publisher also released a cheaper, shorter (42 pp.) edition the same year. Contents toned, some staining to the title-page and the last page, else clean and sound, firmly bound in fresh modern wraps.
