county on front cover, green endpapers, 2 folding maps "Master Plan of
Highways" (20 1/2 x 37 inches; 24 x 35 inches, including "Northern
Portion of the County of Los Angeles") present in envelope mounted
inside rear cover; bindings square and tight, minor rubbing. Near Fine.

FIRST EDITION. This plan was adopted by the Los Angeles County Board of
Supervisors, February 27, 1940. The Los Angeles County Regional Planning
District was established in 1922 as the first metropolitan area planning
commission for planning and approving subdivisions. Its mandate expanded
over the years to include traffic and airport planning.
