CHEEVER, John. THE WAY SOME PEOPLE LIVE. New York: Random House, (1943).
First Edition. Author's superb first book, a collection of short
stories. Minor wrinkling and roughness to front endpaper, likely from
the careful removal of a bookplate; otherwise, the book is fine and
bright without any of the gutter darkening or spine wear typical to this
title. The spine of the dustwrapper has minor wear to the heel with
small chips at the head just extending to both panels. Other than minor
corner wear and a short closed tear to the rear, the dustwrapper also is
superior to the typical example. It is price-clipped but most of the
dollar sign still remains. About Fine in a nicer than usual dustwrapper
with absolutely no restoration. (#008463) $1,250.00
