Edition. Advance copy of Welty's third book with a dated review slip
tipped to the front free endpaper. Owner signature of the reviewer on
the endpaper, Beverly Layman of the University of Virginia, with a small
ink date and the initials "VQR" (Virginia Quarterly Review) in the
gutter of the title page. The dustwrapper, designed by E. McKnight
Kauffer, has the typical fading to the spine with the word "Net"
completely faded as well as some staining toward the bottom. Near Fine
in a Very Good dustwrapper. Scarce as a Review Copy. (#009224)
