unmarked. Gilt-stamped green cloth, spine title blocked in black;
binding square and tight. Fine.

LIMITED EDITION of 500 copies design and typography by Jerry Kelly.
Catalog of an exhibition at the Grolier Club, February 25 to April 25,
2015. Aldus Manutius (1455-1515) was the greatest printer of the Italian
Renaissance. Aldus was the first to print the canon of Greek classics,
the first to print in italic type, and the first to publish books in a
portable format. Includes 2 essays, "Jean Grolier, Aldus Manutius, and
the Aldine Press" by H. George Fletcher and "Jean Grolier's 1514 Aldine
Virgil on Blue Paper" also by Fletcher, and a Preface by Clemons and
Fletcher. The 141 books in the exhibition were published by the Aldine
Press; most came from private collections and had not been previously
exhibited.
