First edition of this early work, a historical novel set in the time of Queen Anne, by the prolific and phenomenally popular Bulwer-Lytton (1803-1873). Bindings with professional repairs to the joints and spine heads; contents lightly toned with occasional spots and scattered light foxing, intermittent damp-stain to the top edges of the leaves in vol. II, else clean and sound, firmly bound.
