Biddulph, M. A. S.  A SERIES OF TOPOGRAPHICAL SKETCHES OF THE GROUND BEFORE SEVASTOPOL, Accompanied by Explanatory Descriptions. London: Chapman and Hall. (1855). Folio. 3 parts in 1, each with a separate title page and a different imprint. Part II: Woolwich: Printed at the Royal Artillery Institution. Part III: London: Edward Stanford. (2),7,(1)pp. plus 2 large folding lithographs; 9,(1)pp. plus 2 large folding lithographs; 4pp. plus 1 large folding lithograph. In all, 5 large folding panoramas of the battle topography of Sevastopol during the Crimean War, printed by Hullmandel & Walton, and Day & Son. The lithos. are quite large, with numerous folds, the final lithograph is 38 inches in length. Orig. thin blue cloth, gilt stamped. Very scarce primary source document on the British positions in the siege of Sevastopol, detailing attacks, positions of batteries, etc. Although all 3 title pages call the author "Captain Biddulph" the front cover is stamped "Major Biddulph's Topographical Sketches Before Sevastopol."
