This address was delivered at the marriage of the Rev. Hiram Bingham, to Miss Sybil Moseley. Hiram Bingham (1789-1869) was among the first group of Protestant missionaries to introduce Christianity to Hawaii. Gallaudet was a renowned pioneer in the education of the deaf.
