Lg. 4to. 2 vols. cli,(1),544;lxvi,(2),600pp. Index. Edition limited to 300 sets. Illustrated with an engraved plate and a folding facsimile bird's-etye view of early Mexico City. There is also a leaf of facsimile signatures of early missionaries. Both volumes uniformly bound in late 19th c. black morocco, gilt, over marbled boards. T.e.g. Some wear at edges and tips. Both volumes rebacked, with the orig. gilt spines laid down. This is Henry Wagner's copy with his marginal pencil notations and his bookplate on front pastedowns. Laid in at front of Vol. 1 is a T.L.S. to Henry Wagner from USC History Professor George Hammond, dated January 27, 1929.                 $1,500.00 (trade discount allowed)
