1960. First Edition. Decorated salmon-colored wraps with a title page
bearing a striking blue and orange fish design in a Native American
motif. Stafford's scarce first book of poetry, preceded by DOWN IN MY
HEART, a collection of fictional accounts based on his own experience in
Civilian Public Service camps for religious objectors during the Second
World War. INSCRIBED and SIGNED on the front endpaper: "For the John
Grosses/with all good wishes/from a grateful old friend--/Bill
Stafford/November 1965." Very mild wear and soiling to the covers. About
