Dear Colleagues:  After 35 years of collecting California & Western art (1890-1950) I am starting to sell off about half of what I have (about 100 oil paintings).   Two paintings are in the Heritage Auctions sale #5324, September 22-25, lot numbers 65510 and 65546.  Both are not by "big names", but both are good paintings.  Clarence Ellsworth was best know for painting Indians and horses and this is a great example, done in 1935.  Blanche C. Grant was one of the pioneer women painters in Taos, New Mexico.  She was a professionally trained artist studying with some of the big names on the East coast, before moving to New Mexico.  This 1921 work is a good example of her painting of an Indian native.  Please take a look.  If you are interested in California/Western art please send me an e-mail to be put on a list which will notify you of other paintings coming up for sale.  Thank you, Ken Karmiole
