Sanitary Entombment; The Ideal Disposition of the Dead. By Rev. Charles
R. Treat. “Reprinted from The Sanitarian, December, 1889”.
The author was dead set (so to speak) against earth burial as
unsanitary, especially in cities, and was an advocate of elaborate
above-ground mausoleums where corpses would air-dry (desiccate) like
beef jerky. The text is illustrated with line drawings of such a “Campo
Santo” he would propose for New York City.
Softcover. 5.5”x9”. 22 pages, line illustrations. Minor soil, light
wear, top portion of the front cover darkened, and also stamped
“Compliments of the Author”. [45269] $45
