The final leaf a blank. Finely bound in 19th century full dark green morocco, finely gilt & blind stamped. Gilt dentelles and marbled endpapers. Added to this beautifully printed edition of Boccaccio's famous story is Clarico's interesting commentary, focusing in on an important issue of the time, the use of vernacular Italian in serious literary work; also, there is a long letter of the publisher Calvo addressed to a Roman gentleman Giovanni Pauolo concerning the text and Calvo's care in restoring it from a well written early manuscript.
