(10),117,(1)pp. Original holographic manuscript on paper, in red and black ink throughout. Illustrated with historiated capital letters at the beginning of chapters, decorative endpieces and two very fine full page devotional illustrations. Fine calligraphy. Bound in early 19th century full black calf, blind and gilt stamped. Spine somewhat rubbed, with a small paper label at the bottom.    $1,500.00 (trade discount allowed)
Selections and orations from numerous authors such as Paolo Segneri (Jesuit, d. 1694), Antonio da Padova, Pope Clement XII (d. 1740), Saint Augustine, Luigi Gonzaga (Jesuit, d. 1591), Francesco di Paola (d. 1507). Many of the selections are in praise of the Virgin Mary. 
This manuscript was set-up with a title page, apparently ready to be printed. I suspect that the name in the imprint, Luigi Filidoni, created this manuscript, which in fact never became a printed book.
