Small, thick 8vo (19 cm) in polished tree calf prize binding by Bickers & Son, elaborately gilt-tooled spine, gilt arms of Eton College to the front board and award certificate to front paste-down, marbled endpapers and page edges; xxviii + 521 pp.; with 17 sepia plates, one in-text plan, and a folding map. Modest bit of wear to the corners and spine ends, small crack to the top of the front hinge, but very clean and crisp, firmly bound, appears unread. A fine, handsome copy.
