With the final leaf of colophon. Woodcut printer's device on title. Original vellum, somewhat soiled. Title with two lines scribbled over in ink, and a very light 3-line rubber stamp of a previous owner. Bottom outer blank corner of title and next leaf torn away. Some text soiling. With the original blank leaf after the table of contents, containing the inscription of one "Nicolai Lenoir" at the Sorbonne in 1686.                    $2,000.00 (trade discount allowed)
A scarce early reprint edition of this key book on the subject of demons and witchcraft. Pages 522-604 are Bodin's essay, "Refutation des opinions de Jean Wier." This refers to Johann Wier (or Weyer) who also wrote 2 books on the same subject. BL French STC p. 72. This edition not in Adams.
