BEN-GURION, David. AUTOGRAPH LETTER SIGNED (ALS). Tel Aviv, 17 November
1964. A short but very interesting letter written and SIGNED in Hebrew
on 5-1/2" x 7-3/4" ruled paper with punch holes in the margin. Addressed
to "Dear friend" David Hacohen, an Israeli politician who served as a
member of the Knesset between 1949 and 1953, and again from 1955 until
1969. An English translation is provided and quoted here in full: "I do
not forgive a government crisis. I want the government to continue, but
under the condition that the error in the matter of the 'shameful
incident' be corrected, and this matter can be fixed only by appointment
of a judicial investigation committee. The good of the State is more
important than anything else -- but even if there will be a crisis in
the government, let it continue to exist, and only that the good of the
State be restored, and the purity of the State should come before any
impure government." Fine. (#019173)        $1,000.00
