"On a Method of Embalming the Dead by the use of Thymol"

By Dr. Wywodzoff. Printed in Philadelphia for the Russian Commission in 
1876.

Dr. Wywodzoff had recently published  sweeping study of embalming, and 
here recounts some experiments he conducted himself, with descriptions 
of the process and apparatus involved. Thymol is a plant-based 
antiseptic found in thyme and bee-balm which has been found useful by 
both the medical and culinary fields. Its use in embalming does not seem 
to have caught on. Softcover. 5.5”x9”. 10 pages, 1 text illustrations. 
Minor soil, light wear, spine splitting. Cover stamped “Dr. S. T. 
Armstrong”. [45268]  $65
