1847 London Metropolitan Police Force Department Bookplate.
“Regulations for the Libraries of the Metropolitan Police Force”. The
Library was funded by a subscription of a half-penny a week by “each
Constable, Serjeant, and Superior Officer”. Lots of common-sense
regulations- one book may be borrowed at a time, if you lose it you pay
for it, and so on. Aggrieved parties (really? aggrieved by a book? shall
report their sorry little beef to the Commissioner. Bookplate. About
3.75”x4.5”. Minor soil. [47512] $65
