2) 19th C. Faneuil Hall Boston Business / Produce Card. - Probably
c.1880 or so, Lowell Brothers dealt in “Fruit, Vegetables and Produce of
all kinds” from Cellar 4 of the New Faneuil Hall Market in Boston.
Faneuil Hall market was first opened in 1743 and has become a Boston
icon, continuing in operation today. In 1806, the hall was greatly
expanded by Charles Bulfinch; it was rebuilt in 1825 under direction of
Mayor Josiah Quincy, opening in 1826 as “New Faneuil Hall Market”, and
rebuilt again in 1858, reopening under the same “New” moniker. This card
appears to date from the 1870s or 1880s. 3.5”x2.25”. Minor soil, light
wear. [49399] $25
