Part of the series "Anecdota Oxoniensia," this volume being "Semitic Series Vol.1 - Part II."
Budge (1857-1934) was the most notable English specialist on the Antient Near East in his day. THE BOOK OF THE BEE, published when he was 29, is his first scholarly work on ancient Syriac texts.
Presentation copies of his books are scarce. The auction records (Rarebookhub) show 566 records of Budge titles sold, but there are only 6 records for inscribed copies!  "Lady Burghelere" (1864-1944) was an English author writing on the British aristocracy.
