First Annual Roller Skating Carnival Official Program - Madison Square
Garden May 24, 1950.

“NEW Action! NEW Thrills! NEW Dreams! - That’s the first annual Roller
Skating Carnival, a glittering addition to the calendar of amateur
sports activities sponsored by The News Welfare Association, Inc.”.

The News Welfare Association was run by the New York Daily News and
organised charitable events such as the New York Golden Gloves boxing
championship, and Silver Skates; proceeds went to New York area
charitable organisations. Two weeks of preliminary competition had
winnowed the field of roller skaters down to those who took part in 15
events on this final day.

Softcover. 5.75”x9”, 10 pages, black & white illustrations. Light soil,
some wear- corner crease, slightly scuffed. $40
