Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra; Tobias Smollett: The History and Adventures of the Renowned Don Quixote... To which is prefixed some Account of the Author's Life, by T. Smollett., M.D. London: Printed for W. Strahan [et al], 1770. Four volumes, tall 12mo (17 cm), bound in early/period sprinkled calf. ESTC T59491.

The fourth edition, "corrected." With 27 (of 28) copper-engraved plates after Hayman. Bindings well worn and tender, with the text block of vol. II split and nearly coming apart (held by the headband); first two vols. with some damp-staining to the plates, occasional small spots and light staining and browning elsewhere. Front paste-downs with the engraved armorial bookplates of William Smith ("Deo favente vivo").
