Louis Enault: L'Inde Pittoresque... Illustrations par MM. Rouargue et Outwaith. Paris: Morizot, 1861. First edition. Tall 8vo (26.5) in early/original forest green pebbled cloth decorated in gilt, with the gilt-tooled coat of arms of Elizabeth College, Guernsey, on front and rear covers, gilt page edges, moire endpapers; viii, 502, [2] pp.; with 20 steel-engraved plates, four of which are colored (complete), tissue guards.

Presentation binding of Elizabeth College, Guernsey (founded 1563), with its coat of arms on the covers and a handsome certificate affixed to the front paste-down, awarding the book to William MacCulloch "for proficiency in French Prose Composition" in 1864. Binding corners a little bumped, occasional hint of light foxing to the leaves, mild offsetting from the tissue guards to some of the plates, otherwise very clean and bright. A handsome production.
