This work has been called the first significant European book printed in Persian. 1639 is also the same year as the appearance of the first Persian grammar by Ludovico De Dieu.
The manuscript of this life of Christ was composed in Portuguese, and translated into Persian and Latin by the Jesuit scholar Jerome Xavier in 1602. It contains the notes of Ludovico De Dieu. See De Backer-Sommervogel, 1339, and Willems 490.
