Routledge and Sons, 1888. First Illustrated Edition. Five quarto (7-1/2" 
x 10-3/4") volumes bound in publisher's green cloth with printed paper 
spine labels. According to the title page, "with nearly five hundred 
illustrations from designs by G. Staal, J. A. Beauce, and other eminent 
French artists." All illustrations present, with some not noted in the 
List of Illustrations. Contents clean and bright with firm hinges. Light 
rubbing to covers, paper spine labels with typical rubbing affecting 
some letters. Overall a Near Fine set and rather uncommon. (#020382)
