Stephen Collet (ed.): Relics of Literature. London: Thomas Boys, 1823. First edition; 8vo (22 cm) in early/period half calf and marbled boards, spine lettered in gilt, marbled endpapers; xiv, [2], 400 pp.; title-page printed in blue and black, folding engraved plate.

Binding with rubbing and wear to the edges and corners, darkening to the spine; contents mildly toned with some occasional spotting (most noticeable on the folding plate), else clean and sound, firmly bound. A curious and compendious collection of literary and bibliographical anecdotes, including: The First English Catalogue; Pennyless Parliament of Threadbare Poets, a curious Black-letter Tract; Original Story of King Lear; Lines on the Great Fire of London; Corrections of Bayle's Dictionary; Miss Edgeworth and the Jews; List of Sir Isaac Newton's unpublished Works; Roger Payne, the eccentric Bookbinder; Ancient Value of Books; A Macaronic; Massachusetts Chapter of Accidents; Voltaire and the Booksellers; Mr. Bindley, the Bibliomaniac; etc., etc.
