"Mr. Addison" (pseud.): Interesting Anecdotes, Memoirs, Allegories, Essays, and Poetical Fragments, Tending to Amuse the Fancy, and Inculcate Morality. London: Printed for the Author, 1794. Four volumes, 8vo (23 cm), in early/period half calf and marbled boards with red morocco spine labels lettered in gilt.

A handsome set of the first four volumes of this eccentric literary and historical miscellany whose editor/author remains unidentified. The collection eventually ran to sixteen volumes. Bindings with fairly modest rubbing and wear, some cracking to the joints, but all the boards are secure; occasional light toning and spotting to the leaves, the contents otherwise quite clean and bright, firmly bound.
