Good morning, actually and virtually, beneath a waxing crescent moon.

Ezra from Aardvark lists a group of seven pamphlets by the noted theologian William Ellery Channing.

The minister William Ellery Channing (1780-1842) was a leading figure of Unitarianism at a time when it was just beginning to take hold in America. A prominent preacher, Channing often imbued his sermons with philosophical, moral, and political import. His theology emphasized the inherent goodness of human nature, an idea that embodied the ethos of the Transcendentalist movement of the 1820s and 1830s. (Although, he never committed to the movement). In his impassioned speeches he advocated for human and spiritual progress. His social and political influence has been described as "An exemplar of Christian piety and a champion of human rights and dignity, he effectively fostered social reform in areas of free speech, education, peace, relief for the poor, and anti-slavery." (The Unitarian Universalist Historical Society).
