1953. First Edition. Third Printing. Decorated red cloth. INSCRIBED and
SIGNED by the author on the front end paper: "For the Kirwan
family/Inscribed, with best wishes/from Hank, the Druggist,/with
greetings from/Conrad Richter/In rememberance of the/big day of February
24th." A novel about a white boy captured by Delaware Indians at the age
of four, and after eleven years among the Delaware people, he is
forcibly returned to his parents. Basis for the 1958 Disney movie of the
same title starring Fess Parker. Close to Fine in dustwrapper.
