Club, 1933. Three octavo volumes (5-1/2" x 8-1/8") bound in half yellow 
linen and hand-decorated paper sides. Designed by D. B. Updike and 
printed at the Merrymount Press. Translated by Constance Garnett and 
revised, with an introduction, by Avrahm Yarmolinsky. Illustrated with 
wash drawings by Alexander King. Copy #1144 of 1500 copies SIGNED by the 
illustrator on the colophon page. Armorial bookplate on each front 
pastedown; spines a bit soiled and darkened with just a little wear to 
the spine labels. Near Fine in an intact, Good slipcase, with the 
typical soiling and rubbing usually found. Much more difficult to locate 
than the later issue by the same publisher. (#020999)        $350
