1777 Oversized Hand-Written Vellum Legal Seven-Part Indenture Document  
for Land

A rather large and elegant hand-scribed legal document drawn up in  
1777 having to do with land in London and seven or eight or twelve  
parties who have some sort of interest in it, side agreements  
regarding loans and buildings and debts and interest, and on and on  
and on, and this was agreed in 1770, and this was agreed in 17721, and  
on and on and on. Everybody seems to be in agreement at the end,  
because everybody sealed and witnessed it. I think we can all agree  
that the poor law clerks who had to transcribe this sort of thing were  
tremendously underpaid. Still and all, an impressive and very  
display-able work of law.

This comes with a handwritten transcription.

Vellum sheet. 29”x25.5”. Folded, some soil, and rubbing and small  
tears at the four interior cross-fold points, with some loss of  
lettering. $125, plus $3 shipping.
