PISSARRO, Camille. AUTOGRAPH LETTER SIGNED TO HIS SON
matted and framed with a reproduction of a painting and a
brass plaque. Eragny Barincourt: 11 Sept. 1897. A fine
two-page letter (@200 words) in French to his son Felix
        completely in Pissarro's hand (7-3/4" x 5-3/4") matted with
a reproduction of one of his paintings (5-3/4" x 5-3/4") and
a brass plaque. All in a muted gold frame under glass with a
total size of 13" x 21". A chiding missive in which Pissarro
responds to a letter from his son announcing that he is in
Kew and scolding him about ignoring health warnings
regarding his bronchitis: Dr. Martiny told you that England
wouldn't be suitable for you, which didn't keep you from
going just the same. Pissarro offers to send money to his
son but needs to be sure of his address. He tells Felix that
the postcard he wrote in English wasn't bad, but the tenses
of the verbs weren't completely correct. A letter sure to
strike a nerve of any father with a college-age son. SIGNED
"je vous embrasse tous, ton pierre aff. C. Pissarro." Fine,
        beautiful presentation. $2500.00
