ACTS PASSED AT THE FIRST (AND SECOND) SESSION
OF THE 7th CONGRESS OF THE UNITED STATES.

(Washington): Duane: (1802-3).

The two volumes comprising the 7th Congress, with a separate title page
for rebinding as a single volume. Interesting events during the Sessions
included-

the Act directing that the books purchased by Congress be kept together
and that a Librarian of Congress be employed...

an act allowing for the defense of American vessels against the Tripoli
pirates...

yet another act establishing a frontier boundary line over which settlers
shall not cross...

the incorporation of the District of Columbia...

the establishment of the state of Ohio...

acts concerning land in the Florida and Mississippi Territories...

Session Two also includes the text of the new Convention with the French
Republic, Treaties with the Chickasaw and Chactaw Indians, and the Creek
and Seneca Nations.

Softcover. 2 volumes; 5.5"x8.5", 191 + v pages; [and] 5.5"x8.5", 121 + iv
+ lxxxv + xxvi pages; original publisher's grey wraps with a tan paper
spine; period ink title on front cover and spine, light internal browning
and a few spots, some cover soil and a stain on the Second Session's
cover, but overall a very nice, untrimmed copy in a pleasingly
unsophisticated, original state. The Second Session also has bound in a
sheet providing a title page for Volume VI of the "Laws of the United
States of America", allowing it to be rebound with the leaves for the
First Session to make the complete year. [01822] $300.00
