1.  [BLACKSTONE].  Sir William Blackstone.  Published by Harrison

A seemingly unrecorded engraving of Blackstone after the famed
Gainsborough portrait centered above a five-paragraph biographical
text recapitulating his career and publications; in no source which
we have consulted.

2.  [BROADSIDE].  Tottenham Park Association, For the Protection of
Persons and Property [etc.].  R. Emberlin, Marlborough, 1826.

3.  [COURT FORMS].  A List of Forms and Books specially prepared
for the use of County Courts in England and Wales . . . by
direction of the Lord Chancellor, to be adopted on and from the 1st

The highly detailed order form giving ample insight into the
country court machinery, with over 100 forms, dozens of types of
books (for treasurers, registrars, charitable trusts, and
bailiffs), and a variety of office supplies.

4.  [DAMAGE CLEERE].  An Act for Taking away the Fee of Damage
Cleere.  Printed by Edward Husband and John Field [etc.], London,
1650.  Attractively matted; with the Commonwealth seal,
black-letter. [42994 C16XYL16L53L69L76]                  $ 650.00

The broadside officially publicizing the act of the Commonwealth
Parliament abolishing the vexatious fee of court called damage
cleer or damna clericorum, in which court clerks had been entitled
to an automatic 10% of all judgments.

5.  [GAOL DELIVERY].  Assize Kalendar . . . of the Prisoners in the
Gaols of Durham, Newcastle, and Morpeth, who have to take their
Trials before the Hon. Sir John Bayley, Knt. and the Hon. Sir Geo.
Sowley Holroyd, Knt. Justices of the Court of King's Bench.

A seemingly unrecorded criminal trial calendar disclosing an
enormous variety of alleged crimes (murder, rape, arson), committed
by some as young as twelve years, and with an unusually high number
of accused women, about one-third of all charged.

8.  [SALE OF LAW BOOKS].  Bill of Sale, one sheet, dated at New
York, August 2, 1822, in the hand of and signed by S[amuel?] Gould,
recording the sale and payment for law books.  New York, 1822.  One
page, folded, somewhat embrowned, but sound and well preserved.

The bill of sale acknowledges the receipt of $5.50 for the set of
Jacob & Walker's Chancery Reports--normally $7.00, with a $1.50
discount for cash; docketed on the verso.

9.  [SUPREME COURT EPHEMERA].  The Court . . . Silence is
Requested.  N.p., n.p., [1929?].  One sheet, about 3x5, folded
thrice, a bit worn, well-preserved. [67494 L72]           $ 45.00

An abstract diagram of the Court's seating arrangement, presumably
given to visitors, depicting fourteen locations, including each of
the justices (all named), the Clerk, Marshall, and Reporter, and
the desks for counsel and the Attorney General.
