A mixed Irish edition of the most famous of all English law books,
comprised in part of the earliest pirated edition (and the first
octavo printing) and, in the case of volume 2, of an unknown
pirated printing predating any previously located.

First edition of the pre-eminently collectible work of
Anglo-American law, the principal fruits of Blackstone's Vinerian
Professorship at Oxford, the first legal chair in the English
speaking world whose first occupant was Blackstone.

The last quarto edition printed at Oxford, whose press Blackstone
had done much to improve and reform, published in the year
Blackstone was knighted and became a justice of the Court of Common
Pleas.

Likely the most attractive Dublin-printed set we have ever had of
this, the best known of all English legal treatises, the pirated
Irish editions of which are normally rather drab productions when
compared with their Oxford and London cousins.

The first complete Irish edition to be published in a single year
of the most famous of all English law books, every set located in
ESTC either incomplete (without the plates or lacking one or more
volumes) or unverified.

A very early Dublin-printed, pirated edition (the second) of
Blackstone's classic work, appearing during the same year as the
first American edition, and the first in Ireland in which all four
volumes were published during the same year.
