[Salviati] THE GLASS AND MOSAIC INDUSTRIES IN VENICE. Venice; Salviati:
[1922?]. In 1859 Antonio Salviati, a lawyer by profession, embarked on a
new career, the revival of the dormant Venetian glass and mosaic trades. He
pioneered manufacturing and assembly methods with mosaics which rapidly won
international acclaim, and then hired the best glass artisans to start a
new glass factory. The Salviati firm still thrives in Venice. These two
essays discuss the rise and fall of the Venetian glass industry and its
subsequent revival by Dr. Salviati, and Dr. Salviati's work with mosaics. A
fairly scarce item, with only a few microform copies located by
OCLC. Softcover. 4.5"x7", 39 pages, b/w illustrations; light wear, a
little soil. [06314] $100.00
