[ASSOCIATE REFORMED CHURCH.] DRAUGHT OF AN OVERTURE . . .
BY A COMMITTEE OF THE ASSOCIATE REFORMED SYNOD, . . . ILLUSTRATING
AND DEFENDING THE DOCTRINES OF THE WESTMINSTER CONFESSION OF FAITH .
. . Philadelphia:Printed by Zachariah Poulson, 1787. Octavo,
original plain wrappers (rear wrapper worn) inscribed "Mr. Adam Woods
from Mr. Smith" (presumably John Smith who was one of the three
members of the Committee.) Light soiling, uncut, some
margins rough, one small repair, 160 pages. Although the Committee
consisted of Dr. John Mason, Robt. Annan & John Smith, Annan is
generally considered to have been the author. This branch of American
Reformed Presbyterianism lasted as an independent entity until 1858.
A few copies are located by OCLC and RLG but of these only the copy
at the U. of Rochester seems to be a book rather than a microfiche,
&c. There is also a copy at the AAS. Evans 20208.
