Edinburgh: James Ballantyne for Archibald Constable and Co. et al. 1814. First
edition, first issue. 3 volumes. 12mo. (4),358,(2);(4),370.(2);(4),372pp.
Complete with the half-titles, and both final leaves in volumes I and II, which are
blank except for the 2-line imprint at the bottom of the leaf. Half calf,
gilt, over marbled boards, circa 1920, morocco spine labels. Some light text
browning. An attractive set. $4,500.00 (trade discount allowed)
Published in an edition of 1,000 sets, which were quickly sold; three other
editions appeared by the end of 1814. This set with p. 153 of Volume III signed
“2G” and p. 323 mis-numbered 32, and with the very scarce final leaf with
