Goullart worked on the border for the Chinese Industrial Cooperative 
in the Province of Sikang which was annexed from the huge Tibetan 
Province of Kham. "I was eagerly looking forward to meeting Tibetans 
and staying at lamaseries, and making trips to the mysterious lands 
such as the Kingdom of Muli and, perhaps, into the  domains of the 
Independent Lolos, those fierce tribesmen who for centuries defied 
the might of the Chinese Empire and were immortalized in Chinese 
literature as the most ferocious and ruthless  warriors in the 
world." Provides pictures of this little-known tribe and area.

A very good copy  with some small nicks and tears to head and tail of

be billed. Trade allowance. Postage for Domestic orders is $4.00 for 
the first book and $1.50 for each additional volume. Books are 
normally shipped Media Mail. For international orders, postage is 
calculated individually. All books may be returned in original
