ACKERMANN,    Rudolph  (Publisher).  HISTORICAL   SKETCH  OF   MOSCOW:
ILLUSTRATED  BY TWELVE VIEWS OF DIFFERENT PARTS OF THAT IMPERIAL CITY,
THE  KREMLIN,  &c.  London: R. Ackermann 1813.  First  Edition.  Small
folio  (11"  x  13-1/4") consisting of title  page,  introduction,  27
pages  of text, and 12 beautiful hand-colored aquatint plates, [plates
watermarked  1808 and 1812, text watermarked 1811]. Abbey, Travel  224
(where  one of the plates is reproduced); Tooley 262. Loose in binding
which  is  spotted  and  worn.  The  paper  is  a  bit  darkened  with
occasional  minor  spotting,  though the plates are quite  clean.  The
edges  of  the  paper are somewhat frayed on some of  the  plates  but
never  entering the plate mark. There is a tiny pinhole in each  plate
that  is  hard  to notice. A complete and scarce set of  these  lovely
images of Moscow. Plates still quite nice.                    $3000.00
