FS - Owen Dodson: Boy At The Window: Japanese edition
Owen Dodson's second book, a coming-of-adolescence novel. This being
a Japanese language edition; hardback with limp covers; original
thin, clear, cello plastic over the boards; ribbon marker; red
pastedowns and endpapers. Rear endpaper shows a full-length
silhouette of the author. Has a "bookmark" with book price and
publisher information, common to Japanese books, this bookmark with a
large chip out of the center. With original printed insert
summarizing the book. Thin pasteboard slipcase with portrait photo of Dodson.
Copyright 1951, this translation published 1961 by Hayakawa Shobo &
Co. Ltd.by arrangement with Farrar, Straus, and Cudahy through
Charles E. Tuttle.
This copy from the estate of James Russell, friend of Owen, fine
artist, and designer of Broadway and NBC stage sets in New York City.
12mo Book is about Near Fine with tiny dings to the head of the text
block and tiny ink marks to the fore edge of the text block. Slip
case is clean and sound, unfinished edges of pasteboard are all very
slightly abused, slight rubbing, good-looking and basically VG. $125
