ROOSEVELT, Eleanor & HICKOK, Lorena. LADIES OF COURAGE. New York:
G. P. Putnam's Sons (1954). First Edition. SIGNED by the former First
Lady on the first blank. An account of women's struggle for
recognition in American public life with a chapter on Eleanor
Roosevelt by Hickok as well as a chapter on "How to Break into
Politics." The thirty-year relationship between Roosevelt and Hickok,
who actually lived in the White House during part of FDR's term, has
been the source of much speculation with many believing that they
were more than friends. This is an uncommon title and rarely found
signed in any condition. Former owner inscription dated 1954 on the
front free endpaper. Near Fine in a Very Good dustwrapper. $1200.00
