from the 12th through 19th century. Believed to be the only 
collection of a single family's personal papers that spanned eight 
centuries. Has considerable explanation of the history and 
significance of each paper. Liberally illustrated with full-page b&w 
photo plates of  manuscripts, papers, signatures, and most other 
auction lots, other b&w photos. Printed sheets of estimates and 
realized prices laid in. Colored, illustrated pastedowns. Colored 
endpapers. A unique reference. Quite clean, bright,  tight, and in
