Allessandro Vecchi. 1610. 4to. (16),440pp. Large title page woodcut
vignette. Illustrated with 102 finely executed text woodcuts (1,
full-page, the others 2-1/2" x 4"), most impressions are strong but a
few are light, with several of the images repeated. Later (circa 1850)
gilt decorated vellum, straight grained red morocco spine labels over
marbled boards. A very attractive binding. Very minor worming to first
two leaves and final 3 leaves. Small bookplate on front
pastedown.  $850.00 (trade discount allowed)
A popular work of fiction by Sansovino (1521-1583), first published in
