Orr, Louis. PORTS OF AMERICA. FOURTEEN ETCHINGS. [New Haven. Conn.]: 
Yale University Press, 1928.  Folio. Quarter cloth over paper covered 
board box portfolio, label on front board. First edition. Illus. with 
fourteen mounted plates printed on heavy cream wove Arches. All are 
signed in pencil (plates 2-13 signed and titled below plate, plate 1 
(title) signed below plate, plate 14 (index) signed on plate in 
pencil). Two plates trimmed (from 19 x 14 inches) probably for 
framing: Savannah trimmed to 15 3/16 x 13 7/8 inches; Chicago trimmed 
to 18 x 12 3/4 inches. Includes: title page, New York, Boston, 
Philadelphia, Hampton Roads, Savannah, New Orleans, Chicago, 
Cleveland, Buffalo, Duluth, San Francisco, Seattle, Index (Baltimore).

Louis Orr (1879 -1961) was an etcher best known for his architectural 
series on North Carolina, Paris, and this, the Ports of America. Two 
plates trimmed of which one is browned at margins, index with 
marginal corner crease, else fine impressions in original portfolio 
which is quite rubbed, soiled, and stained, especially on rear.

U.S. funds on a U.S. bank. New York residents please add appropriate 
sales tax or forward a tax id number. Libraries and Institutions can 
be billed. Trade allowance. Postage for Domestic orders is $4.00 for 
the first book and $1.50 for each additional volume. Books are 
normally shipped Media Mail. For international orders, postage is 
calculated individually. All books may be returned in original 
condition for any reason within two weeks with prior notification.
