*Offered*: *The Bomb and the General* by Umberto Eco* Signed by Author and
by Illustrator. *

*Eco, Umberto* (Author); *Carmi, Eugenio* (Illustrator). *The Bomb and the
General* *[Signed by Author and by Illustrator]*. San Diego: Harcourt Brace
Jovanovich, 1989. First UK edition. A Very Good copy (mild age toning at
the edges, spine head with a small push, lower front board corners bumped,
surface damage to the front pastedown from removal of a sticker) of the
First UK Edition, first printing (printed in Italy, in English), in a Fine
dust jacket (minor toning - considerably less than often seen, a light mark
to front panel and a small spot to rear panel), SIGNED BY UMBERTO ECO and
SIGNED BY EUGENIO CARMI to the title page. Eco's debut children's book in
the Publisher's pictorial paper-covered laminated boards matching to the
dust jacket. Copies of the First UK edition signed by Eco are quite scarce
(scarcer even than are the scarce signed copies of the first American
edition) and copies signed both by Eco and by Carmi are quite so.
Altogether a Very Good + or better copy, SIGNED BY UMBERTO ECO and SIGNED
BY EUGENIO CARMI. QUITE SCARCE. Very Good in fine dust-jacket. Hardcover.
