DREISER, Theodore. AUTOGRAPH LETTER SIGNED. New York, 29 May 1927. A
full two-page AUTOGRAPH LETTER SIGNED on both sides of a piece of
Dreiser's personal stationery addressed to Caulter (?). Dreiser
discusses his eating habits and attempts to arrange a meal with his
correspondent. He mentions that he just bought 35 acres near Mt. Kisco
for a retreat, what would become his infamous home Iroki. Dreiser
concludes, "I have followed your fortunes because I have known you were
directing the 'Children's Daily(?).' Sometimes -- because of public
news, I have smiled over your difficulties -- troublesome no doubt but
not much different in degree to the ills that assail us all." Signed
"Dreiser" with a return address and telephone number. Near Fine.
(#009313) $750.00
